Mazria (shown above), has been grilled by U.S. senators, shared a stage with former
White House chief of staff John Podesta and appeared on the critically
acclaimed PBS series "e2" -- all in the name of boosting energy
efficiency in U.S. homes and commercial buildings.
Seven years ago, Mazria suspended his architecture practice and founded
Architecture 2030,
the nonprofit that created the 2030 Challenge, a roadmap to help the
building sector reach net-zero carbon emissions by the year 2030.
Now, Congress is considering landmark climate legislation that
includes building efficiency provisions based on his recommendations.
With the president pushing for a final vote before December, when world
leaders meet in Copenhagen to discuss a new global environmental
accord, Mazria shared his thoughts with CoStar on the climate bill and
his plans to transform energy consumption in the built environment..."
